Arete to break ground on townhome project in Brenham

A Texas-based real estate development firm has announced plans to begin construction on a new townhome community in Brenham.

Arete Companies will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting Feb. 13 for The Townhomes at Park, a residential development planned for 1301 N. Park St. The event will be hosted in partnership with the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

Company officials said the project will offer market-rate townhomes intended to add housing options in the area.

The development marks the company’s first major ground-up project following the formation of its integrated operating platform, which includes development, brokerage, construction and property management divisions.

Managing Broker and co-founder Jake Carlile said the company chose Brenham for its initial project because of local housing demand.

“We’re excited to officially launch Arete Companies and to do so here in Brenham,” Carlile said. “The Townhomes at Park reflect our belief in building with purpose — projects that respect the communities they’re in and meet real housing needs.”

Construction will be led by Chad Bolcerek, head of construction for the firm’s development division, while property management will be overseen by Mariah Souza. Brokerage and leasing efforts will be handled by Carlile and Alexis Davis.

Following the groundbreaking, the chamber will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally welcome the company to the local business community.

The event is open to the public.
